Silence Kit

In summer of 2000, the very first idea about ‘Silence Kit’ smote the guitarist Boris Belov and the drummer Grigory Alexanyan, both ‘Diary High’ group members. Boris had collected quite a pile of his own material, that would not fit into the ‘Diary High’s concept. After all he was already quite weary with their common product. So, at first ‘Silence Kit’ was planned not as a group but as a single project. The ‘Silence Kit’ singer position was offered to the ‘Diary High’s friend and admirer Dmitry Fedorov. However, since there were no other musicians to share the idea, the project was dallied off. After all, ‘Diary High’s things started moving at last. As a result, Fedor was invited as ‘Diary High’s secong guitarist, and the ‘Silence Kit’ was temporarily fotgotten. Nevertheless, the ‘Diary High’s success did not last long. They have made a record of one song, “Zralok”, that was included into the Play magazine’s ‘Built-Up in Russia’ album. And they’ve also recorded a cover-version of the ‘Primal Scream’s ‘Accelerator’, along with ‘Hot Zex’ from Novosibirsk. The discords kept on mounting, and by spring of 2002 ‘Diary High’ had almost ceased to be. Boris, Grigory and Fedor decided to bring back the old idea about ‘Silence Kit’. They’ve invited Andrey Gavrilov, the keyboard player, ex-singer of the ‘Mosty’ (‘The Bridges’) group, and the ‘Diary High’ concerts habitual frequenter. The final step to fill the set was inviting Sergey Bogatov, ex-bass-guitar-player of the ‘Squash’ group, who replied to a special “encoded” announcement. At the end of 2002 the group had managed its first album without any producers, and they distribute it for free. Both Sergey and Andrey perfectly fit the group, and ‘Silence Kit’ was ready to give a concert in a month and a half after its birth. However the group have made a decision to record the album first. Creating new compositions at the same time, ‘Silence Kit’ has managed to collect the necessary sum, and next summer and the beginning of fall were spent on the first album work out. Recently the group gives the concerts to support the album, and work with the new material as well. ‘Pieonear’, the second album was issued by ‘Silence Kit’ in May, 2004.
